Entry# 11 Blog Assessment

     Blogging is really important to both the writer and the reader, for the writer wants to share his knowledge over the net, and the reader wants to learn about the topic in informal way. Also some people want to write about their feeling without anybody can know them. I really liked blogging because this the first time that I know about it. I never use it before, so this is new information for me that I learned in ENG 101. As well as, I took the blogging experience seriously because it worth points in the class, and I like to share things that I do them, or I know them. Blogging was useful for this class, but it was one problem for me; we had to do an extra assignment, and we needed to specify time for it. I suggest if students write just their own blog . I don't like to write about things that teacher choose to write about them. I think everything in the world has advantage and disadvantage and one of the disadvantage of blogging is that sometimes people share wrong information about something they know it, and the reader sometimes believe them. I just want to say that blogging in ENG 101 class was a nice experience for me.

  Enrty #10   My Friend's Favorite Restaurant     Panda Express

      My friend doesn't like Chinese food. And she prefers American fast food. But now she always goes to a Chinese restaurant Panda Express. Every day she tries a new kind of the food. She loves to eat there. And she takes her family with her. She says this restaurant changed her opinion about Chinese food. And she likes the delicious dishes that the restaurant makes. My friend loves to eat in Panda Express because it has different kinds of tasty food, this restaurant is very clean and organized, and it is not an expensive restaurant.

     At first, Panda Express restaurant has a lot of kinds of food like honey on a shrimp, orange chicken, beef steak, chomen and rice, beef broccoli, angus steak, and a lot of kinds of vegetables.

 And most of them are delicious, especially the shrimp. Also the vegetables cooked in a healthy way. And from time to time the cookers add a new kind of food to the list of food. When the

restaurant does a new kind of food, the staff give that kind of food to the customers for free at first time . Also there are many kinds of tasty sauce with the food.  

     Second it is very organized and clean restaurant. The staff clean everything every day. And the manager always comes to check if there is something short in the restaurant, or if there is any dirty or messy place. Also when the employee goes to the bathroom, he has to wash his hands twice before he returns to his work. There are two sink in the restaurant. One of them is in the bathroom, and the other is outside the bathroom. Although this restaurant has many

customers every day, the service is very quick. The customer doesn't wait too long to take his order. The customer can take his order in a few minutes. When my friend goes to the restaurant

at 9:00 am, she sees many people wait to order the food. Furthermore, the cookers are very fast when they cook. And they are very skilled. If the customer doesn't like the food, or there is

something wrong on it, the restaurant will return the money to the customer. Or they will change the meal to him.

     The last good thing is that the restaurant is not expensive. Everybody can eat there. Panda Express has very appropriate prices for any kind of food. The people can take many kinds of food, and they don't pay a lot. People pay less than ten dollars. So there are a lot of people come to eat there.

      Panda express makes my friend love Chinese food. And She always invite people to eat there.  My friend think that Panda Express restaurant is one of the best restaurant in America.

She loves the many kinds of food, she loves the clean food and the organized thing inside the restaurant. And she loves the prices. She says that she will not eat in another restaurant. Only Panda Express still the best to her.

Entry# 9 Pink Slime

     Pink slime or as the American Meat Institute calls it, "boneless lean beef trimmings  (BLBT) — is added to regular ground beef to keep costs down. Healthy food is very important in people's lives especially when they are young because it affects on their health in the future. At first I never  think about the food that my son eats in school; I thought he just eats healthy food. But after I watch the pink slime video and read the article, I become worried about what he eats.

     I shocked when I see how the meet treated with ammonia. Ammonia  hydroxide is a danger to human health and should be banned. The Chef Jimmy has felt a lot of disgust when he discovered that McDonald's uses ammonium hydroxide to convert fatty beef  to meat used in meals and burgers.
I wonder, how sane human being to develop a meat-filled with ammonia in the mouths of our children?
    Jimmy proved in practice and in front of the TV audience with one of his aides how is the process of meat processing and how this work does not hold any respect for the value of human life at this company. Oliver repeatedly explained to the public , over the past several years - in documentaries TV shows and interviews - that the fatty portions of beef are washed in ammonium hydroxide and used to fill the hamburger .
These parts are considered unfit for human consumption.                                         According to the chef Jamie Oliver " in basically, the products are sold cheap food for dogs and after this process , they are sold for humans . "

Entry# 8 Obesity

      
      Obesity is mainly caused when the intake of the calories exceed the dissipated calories. In simple words, when one tends to eat more than his body requirement the extra fat start depositing in the body tissues giving rise to obesity. Junk food is the main culprit. The other common cause is the lack of physical activity. Genetic predisposition also plays a major role as a causative factor. Obesity is very serious matter in this world, but people don't take it as a global issue. Overweight people can have dangerous effect, emotional problem, and also take a lot of responsibility to get back to a normal weight. Obesity is one of the most important global health concern. Obesity has a lot of bad effects on person's health, person's economy, and person's appearance and self-esteem. People who struggling with obesity should start to do more physical active in their daily life, so they can lose all their fat.

Entry# 7 Healthy Food

    Food is very important in people's lives, so we have to know what we eat. 
 I never thought about the food that I ate before, but after I watched Food, Inc movie I changed many things in kind of food that my family eat every day. My son favorite meal is hamburger, and I always buy it to him. After I watched this movie, I try to prevent him to eat hot dog or hamburger because I don't know how the factories do these things. Most of factories owner don't think about people's health; they just think about how much they will earn, so I prefer to cook at home, for I know what I do. I shocked when I see the animals treatment. And how they kill them especially the chickens; it was very sad for me. Before a few days I watched another video, and I saw the way to make hot dog; after that day I never buy hot dog to anyone at home. I am very sad  because of the lack of respect for humans by some American businesses. The business people just think of money. And there are many companies in every country change the expire date of the food or cans; they don't regard about people's health. Furthermore, I know how is the corn important to do many kind of food especially bread. In addition, one of the big problem is the amount of hormones in most kind of food especially fruits and vegetables. Nobody care about how these hormones affect on persons health as well as it is not easy to buy organic products because they are more expensive than regular product. I wish we can eat food without hormones.

Entry#6   Things Make Me Unique

      I think everybody thinks that he has unique characteristics , and I am one of these people.

 There are many things that make me different. People think these things are simple

things. But I think they are an important thing for me, and these features affect my life. They

make my life easier. I have three things that make me unique, and these things are doing

multiple chores at the same time, doing my makeup and my hair by myself, and finally forgiving

people.

     First, I do a lot of things at the same time. For example, I cook at home every day and clean the

house. Also I take care of my two sons, and I study English language.

      The second thing is that I can do my makeup and my hair by myself. I don't need to go to the

 beauty center when I have a party or any other occasion . I am very ingenious when I put on my

makeup, and these abilities help me save time and money.

        Finally, I am a forgiving person. I cannot hate any person, even if he is not

good to me. I can forgive anybody who has hurt me.

         I think doing many things at home at the same time is not easy, but I can do them . And not

many people can put on their makeup or do their hair by themselves, but I can do them. Also,

these days few people can forget or forgive other people. But I am one of those people. These

simple things  make me unique.

Entry# 5 Technology Makes People Dependence

   This video shows us how technology affects on humans and how they become dependence in everything in their lives.
Also it show us how technology destroys face to face relationship; people speak with each other by phone or laptop. They don't have time to visit each other because of technology. I agree with this video, for I see how people become lazy; they can't do anything by themselves. They depended completely on technology to solve all their problems, so if something happened to their phone or their laptop, they become unable to do anything. People become very lazy; they can't move. In addition, there is something common between this videos and the culture now. I see how the people become obese because they don't do anything by themselves. I rarely see people walk  in the street. Everybody uses his car. I think If people depend completely on technology, they will destroy their mind and their ability to think.

Entry#4 My  Country Iraq Vs. U.S.A

       There are a lot of different things between my country Iraq and America, and these things make  people's lives difficult when they come from Iraq at first.
     First of all, is the food. The food in my country is healthier than the food here. Most families in my country cook at home. In the U.S., most of families eat fast food in a restaurant, and the fast food is full of fat. Also the fruits in my country are natural. In the U.S. the fruits are full of chemicals. Another different thing is the social life. There isn't any social life in America. Everybody spends most of his time at work, and when he returns home, he wants to sleep immediately. In my country, the families visit each other many times, have fun and eat together . Last thing, the study in Iraq is free. But in the U.S., people have to pay a lot of money. Also in the U.S., people have to buy the books and the resources, but in Iraq the school and the university give the students books for free. Also the students can't go to any university they want. It depends on their degree in high school. But in America they can choose what they want to study. It's a good thing that the students choose what they want to study. I think there are bad things and good things in Iraq and America. And the difference between the two cultures makes  life hard, but the Iraqi people try to adapt to the new culture.

Entry#3: Modern Innovation

  There is no doubt that the modern innovation become part of our daily lives .
     We use a lot of these high-end devices in our business and our contacts and our entertainment ; among these devices are mobile phones, computers and many other things. These devices help us to accomplish many of the tasks and responsibilities very effectively and in record time which saves time, effort, money and and provide information and facilitate communication with sound and image. Also linking people in different parts of the world is what makes the whole world seem a single village. But like most other things, we find that these devices have disadvantages also. For example, that regular use of e-mail and text messaging reduces the level of intelligence.  Experts attribute the cause of low IQ when using personal devices listed to mental confusion and lack of concentration. Watching TV for a long time hurts the eyes and exhausts the body. In addition, dependency is one of the disadvantage.Most of people  start to depend on computers and other forms of technology for everyday existence. So when a machine breaks or a computer crashes, people become almost disabled until the problem is resolved. This kind of dependency on technology puts people at a distinct disadvantage because they become less self-reliant.

 I like that invention because I don't need to look for the remote control. I spend long time to look for it, for most of time my son lose it.

     

Entry# 2.  My Mother

I want to speak about a wonderful woman in my life my mother. I love her and I respect her because she is a hard-working woman. She helps everybody without complaining and she helps me a lot all the time; She always worries about me. She is a teacher inside and outside the home.Also when I was young, she helped me to know that the certificate in any field in the university is very important to my life; in addition, she encouraged me to only study, and she didn't let me do anything to help her at home because she wanted me to become a successful woman in my life. She is an amazing homemaker. She washes the clothes, cleans the dishes, cleans the house,takes care of the plants in the back yard and she cooks every day.

She takes care of my first baby when I go to college,

when I want to study and do my homework, when I want to go shopping, or when I have any 

appointment and anything to do. Her help makes me do a lot of things. And now I have another baby.  She takes care of him also. She never tells me that she can't help me even if she has a lot of things to do. I can't imagine my life without her. This is my amazing mother.
